Using AmCare™ as a Data Warehouse
One centralized location for clinical patient information.

Small organizations rarely have the resources to create data warehouses of patient information. Large organizations that have data warehouses often lack the means to capture provider-entered information (such as vital signs, subjective, behavioral, and psychosocial assessments, drug dosage changes, over-the-counter or homeopathic drugs, records of patient encounters, interventions, and follow-up dates).

For large organizations, AmCare offers a centralized database of valuable supplementary information for inclusion in their data warehouses, while for small organizations, AmCare offers a data warehouse in itself. Its Oracle database contains patient demographics, assessments, subjective information, a documentary history of progress notes and patient letters, goals and therapeutic ranges, lab results, prescriptions and dosing histories, admissions and visit records, and past inbox notices. Whether your organization has two regular users or two thousand, you can maintain a data warehouse. AmCare scales as easily as Oracle itself.

With AmCare’s query wizard, users can create ad hoc queries of many of these data without any knowledge of SQL or AmCare’s database structure. Standard reports are pre-built for administrators, and experienced users can create their own SQL queries against the AmCare database using third-party tools like Crystal Reports.
